SMS consent — Autoquiry Seller Approvals
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Autoquiry sends one transactional text message to a private vehicle seller when a buyer requests an inspection of that seller's vehicle. The text contains a link where the seller approves or declines. We send no marketing messages.
How sellers consent
Before any text is sent, an Autoquiry representative calls the seller and reads this script:
"Hi, this is [name] from Autoquiry. A buyer has asked for an independent inspection of your [year make model]. There's no cost to you and you'd get a free copy of the report. May I text you a link to approve or decline the request? You'll get one message, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out."
A text is sent only if the seller says yes. The date, time and representative are recorded on the request. Separately, the buyer must confirm on the request form that the seller's number came from the seller's public listing or from the seller directly.
A seller may also agree in writing instead of by phone — for example, by replying through the messaging system of the website or portal where the vehicle is listed. We keep a copy of that written reply as proof of consent, and the text is sent only to the number the seller agreed to.
